Access Payment Reference Rules

Continia Banking provides default rules for reconciling various types of payment references, such as FIK, SCOR, and Swiss QR references. These rules are designed to locate references in the document number or payment reference fields.

Note

You can enable default Payment Reference Rules through the Continia Feature Management Page. Once enabled, these rules automatically apply during reconciliation to handle common payment reference formats.

To access and Payment Reference Rules:

  1. On the Banking Import Setup page, on the action bar, select Manual Setup and then select Payment Reference Rules. Alternatively, use the Search icon and search for Payment Reference Rules.

  2. On the Payment Reference Rules page you can access and download predefined rules. Continia Banking provides rules for FIK71, FIK71-PREFIX, QR, and SCOR by default.

    Note

Additional Payment Reference Rules will be introduced in future updates.

Selecting a rule will show its detailed configuration, organized into the following FastTabs:

    FastTabDescription
GeneralConfigures the rule’s Code and Description, and lets you enable/disable it. Uses the Payment Reference Search Field Template to specify the field from which to extract the reference.
ValidationIncludes settings to ensure reference formats are correct, such as Validation Pattern Code for regular expressions. The Check Digit option is available to validate references requiring a check digit, with fields for specifying its position and algorithm.
MatchingDefines how references are matched to ledger entries. By default, common fields like Reference No, Document No, or External Document No are used. For document-based references (e.g., Swiss QR codes), Reference Start Position and Reference Length settings specify how to locate the document number within the reference.
Rule FilterAllows rules to be limited to specific statement types (e.g., CAMT.054) or bank transaction codes. Rules are also configurable per bank or bank account, though default settings are typically sufficient.
TestProvides a field to input a reference number and confirm that the rule operates as intended. This feature is useful for verifying the rule’s functionality before it is applied in reconciliation.
