Overview

Bank account reconciliation in Continia Banking helps you match ledger entries with your bank transactions by importing statements directly from your bank. This ensures your records are accurate and simplifies the reconciliation process.

The main workspace for this process is the Bank Account Reconciliation page. If you are getting started, see Introducing Bank Account reconciliation and Managing reconciliation on the Bank Account Reconciliation page for an introduction, and review The Bank Account Reconciliation page article for a description of all columns and their purpose.

When working with imported bank statements, you can use payment application proposals to automatically suggest matches. Lines that require manual handling can be reconciled using Matching bank statement lines manually, or, for more complex cases, transferred to the journal using Reconciling bank statement lines manually. Detailed information for each line can be found in Viewing and editing reconciliation line details.

Occasionally, you may encounter differences in amounts or need to handle rounding for multiple currencies. See Handling amount differences on the Bank Account Reconciliation page and Applying rounding amounts when working with different currencies for guidance. If you make a mistake or need to reverse a reconciliation, refer to Undoing a reconciliation.

Throughout the process, line statuses indicate their current state and the actions available. For more details on these, see The reconciliation statuses. To optimize your workflow and see how to benefit from direct access to the journals, see Optimizing bank account reconciliation with integrated journal functionality.
