Managing Electronic Documents in Canada
As a customer in Canada, you can receive electronic documents directly into Continia Document Capture via email attachments.
Canada is currently working towards supporting electronic invoicing and is recommending that invoices be sent based on the UBL standard, which is considered the national standard. This standard is also the basis for Peppol BIS 3.0. Despite the absence of any legislation enforcing UBL or Peppol BIS 3.0, there are a few Canadian Peppol access points available. Efforts have been made to create a common platform and specification covering Mexico, the United States, and Canada, but no updates have been communicated for more than 5 years. - Canadian companies can choose to register in Peppol eDelivery Network and send and receive in Peppol BIS 3.0 format.
- Can send PDF files directly to the receiver or Peppol BIS 3.0 XML through Peppol eDelivery if agreed between the sending and receiving party.
