Custom field value transfer to ledger entries and general journalsMar 2026Apr 2026

Business value

You can now transfer any custom value, defined through configured fields, directly into ledger entries and general journals when posting expense documents.

Previously, custom information captured on expenses often remained isolated within the expense record. This created gaps in financial reporting, made reconciliation more complex, and limited the usefulness of custom company-specific data.

This enhancement means companies can now seamlessly carry custom values into the posting layer. This ensures important business-specific information is preserved throughout the entire posting flow, providing greater reporting accuracy, and a more flexible financial analysis.

Feature details

This feature introduces a new Transfer Value To section for configured fields. The new setup means you can define where the custom field value should be transferred to during posting.

You can map the field to corresponding fields in related tables, such as:

  • The General Journal Line
  • The Purchase Invoice Line

When the expense is posted, the configured value is automatically transferred to the selected target field. This enables full propagation of custom business data throughout the posting process and ensures that extended attributes (such as project codes, internal references, approval metadata, or other company-specific values) are consistently recorded at the document level, and in the resulting ledger entries.
